Located along the Oak Orchard River in upstate New York, the farm has as its centerpiece, a historic cobblestone barn.
Oak Orchard is home to Gallant (GB), whose sire is the acclaimed European chef-de-race stallion, Rainbow Quest. Gallant descends from the fabulous sire-producing Missy Baba distaff family, with his dam being Gay Gallanta, G1-winning 2yo and Cartier Award winner. This farm was also home to the late Brite Boston Mac, an own son of leading AQHA sire Boston Mac and out of the good Mighty Peavy daughter, Judy Bright. Mind, movement, and soundness are key aspects of the breeding program. Though concentrating on breeding Thoroughbreds, I will also have some select Appaloosas available for sale.
Gallant's first foals arrive in 2008, out of daughters of Bertrando, Unreal Zeal, and Northern Prospect. There are 2007 TB foals by G1-winning son of Damascus, Crusader Sword, and first year KY stallion, Blazonry. There is usually a select group of weanlings, yearlings, broodmares, and riding stock available. Also, there may be a few available for lease (both on-farm and off-farm leases). The young Thoroughbreds are registered NY-breds and some of the Appaloosas are eligible for CRHA, Sundance 500, and FPD.
Some of the bloodlines figuring prominently into this program are Rainbow Quest, Woodman, Unreal Zeal, Northern Dancer, Fit to Fight, Bertrando, Wolf Power, Lycius, Wild Zip, Mighty Peavy, Boston Mac, Goer, and Top Hat H. Horses produced from this program in the past have excelled at dressage, halter, lungeline, western pleasure, hunter/jumper, and as quiet, gentle youth and family mounts and sporthorses. Hopefully, there will be future race winners as well.
Please enjoy looking at the horses and feel free to inquire about any that interest you. Even if they are not listed for sale, all but the "oldies but goodies" would be available to the right home. Thanks.
